Pre-procedure information is strict practices implemented to ensure your own safety and the best results, please take note of these. Failure to do so may mean your treatment cannot go ahead.

It is advisable to wear your normal makeup on the day of your treatment as it will give a clear indication to your technician of your preferences, expectations and of what you would like to achieve.

  • A patch test will be required before undergoing the procedure.
  • Avoid Aspirin or Ibuprofen before your treatment, as this can make you more prone to bruising. We recommend you avoid anti inflammatory medication for at least 3 days before your appointment.
  • Do not however discontinue any medication without prior consent from your GP.
  • As an extra pre-precaution, it is beneficial to also avoid the following for at least 48 hours before your appointment: Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin K & E, Tumeric, Garlic, Ginger, Cayenne Pepper, Green Tea, Cassia Cinnamon, Ginko Biloba, Grape Seed Extract, Dong Quai, Feverfew, Bromelain (pineapple) & Takeaway’s as these can have blood thinning effects which may cause bruising.
  • It is advisable to not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Avoid the use of topical preparations containing AHA’s & Retinoids near the treatment area for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
  • Avoid any cosmetic procedures, including Botox for at least 14 days before and after your appointment.
  • Avoid any advanced facial treatments (near the treatment area) for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
  • Avoid the use of growth serums before Permanent Makeup. For example, we recommend that Revitalash and Revitabrow are not used for 6 months prior to your appointment.
  • Avoid extreme sun exposure and sun beds for at least 14 days before your procedure.
  • If there are any changes with your health/medication (including antibiotics) since your initial booking, please advise ASAP. Treatment & Patch Tests should not be performed within 14 days of a positive test result or vaccination.
  • If the area to be treated shows signs of skin trauma, dryness, blemishes or imperfections 48 hours before, please advise ASAP as this may mean treatment cannot go ahead.
  • We cannot treat anyone under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol.

Lip Pre-Procedures:

  • Any waxing or bleaching treatments should not be carried out for at least 2 weeks before/following your appointment.
  • Our treatments do not cause cold sores, however, if you carry the virus, you will need to take your medication or any Herpes medication from the chemist such as Zovirax once a day for at least one week before your appointment as this will help to reduce the chances of an outbreak. If you have ever had a cold sore, you carry the virus. If you are prone to cold sores, it is advisable to take anti-viral medication to reduce the risk of an outbreak. Please contact your GP or you can request medication on an online pharmacy for e.g Superdrug.
  • We cannot treat the lips if you have a cold sore.
  • Ensure you are moisturising your lips well in the lead up to your appointment.
  • Please gently exfoliate your lips in the lead up to your appointment if they are dry and flaky.
  • We sometimes recommend you allow at least 6 months after cosmetic lip fillers before any lip colouring treatments go ahead. Please avoid any lip fillers in the lead up to your appointment.
  • Avoid the use of lip stains for at least 2 weeks before/following your appointment.

Eyebrow Pre-Procedures

  • Waxing should be carried out at least 5 days prior to your appointment if this is a must. We prefer you to leave your eyebrows to grow for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • If you tint your eyebrows, please organise this for at least 5 days before your appointment so there is no trace of tint left on the skin. If your eyebrows are fair and you are aiming to achieve a darker brow, please tint your eyebrows 5 days prior to your appointment so we can achieve the correct colour. The work we do will not change the colour of the natural brow hair.
  • If you have been using any eyebrow growth serums, please advise ASAP. There are some growth serums that can cause bruising up to 6 months after use.

If any surgery has been carried out recently or you have a medical condition , it is advisable to to get consent from your doctor. In some cases, written consent from your GP is required for treatment to go ahead.

It is important to note that the results of pigment implantation will be determined by a variety of factors such as; skin tone, skin characteristics, PH balance and skin type.

Technically, it is ‘semi-permanent’ makeup however micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time but there can be a light hue left.

Everybody is different i’m afraid. I take every precaution necessary to ensure the procedure is as pain free as possible. A strong topical anaesthetic cream is used prior to and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable while others report no discomfort at all.

The result of the procedure is determined by the following factors:

  • Medication that you are currently taking and/or have taken in the past.
  • Skin characteristics – i.e. dry/oily/sun-damaged.
  • Natural skin undertones.
  • Alcohol intake and smoking habits.
  • General stress.
  • A compromised and/or weak immune system.
  • A poor diet.
  • Post procedure care treatment.

Immediately after your procedure and in the first few days, your PMU will appear significantly darker/brighter and defined than perhaps your desired look. It may continue to get darker/brighter over the next few days as the skin starts heal, however this is not an accurate indication of the finished and healed result. 30-50% of your pmu colour will fade as the skin heals in 7-14 days. In some cases, the skin may take longer to heal. DO NOT PICK ANY SCABS OR DRY SKIN. The pigment is within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. We all heal differently and what works on one client may not be effective on another so please do not compare your results.

The complete healing process takes approximately 6 weeks (although your skin will still be repairing underneath)

For brows we choose a colour that best matches for your skin tone, features and personal preference. As a rule of thumb, we closely match the colour of your brow hair rather than your current hair colour for the most natural results.

For lips there are many colours and you have your own input but we have to consider your natural lips tone within this.

Treatment is not advised.
It is advisable to allow at least 3 months post pregnancy/
breastfeeding before booking Permanent Makeup due to fluctuating
hormones.

The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple days.

I can in some cases work over existing PMU; however, the old tattoo must be significantly faded. Please advise if you have an existing PMU and submit a picture to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.

During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This depends on the client and can be reduced if you follow the pre care. If you take blood thinners on a daily basis then I wouldn’t recommend this treatment for you. Bruising is rare but can occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR PMU WILL APPEAR DARKER/BRIGHTER BUT WILL FADE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER A ONE/TWO WEEK PERIOD. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL TO HAVE A TOUCH UP DONE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT HOW WELL YOUR SKIN WILL RETAIN THE PIGMENT. DUE TO THIS AND MANY OTHER VARYING FACTORS, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR RESULTS.
